A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Hydraulic Mining Service Crew Operatorto join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team.
This position will be offered as a 15 days on/13-days off FIFO shift working roster, located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill).
Key accountabilities will include:
Hydraulic Mining Production
- Ensure all Hydraulic mining operations at Century Mine are conducted and maintained safely.
- Plan daily tasks with Shift Supervisor to ensure continuous planned production.
- Relocation and assembly of High-Pressure water pipework.
- Relocation and set up of High-Pressure water cannons, Tele-huts, Lighting plants and remote trailer mounted cameras.
- Complete workplace inspections.
- Assist in training of personnel in the management of High-pressure Water pipes.
- Conduct earthworks on Dam surface when required.
- Continuous focus on improvement of Mining practice efficiency and safe operation.
- Ensure all defects/hazards are reported in a timely matter.
- Other duties that support the Century Mine operations as requested by the supervisor.
General Administration
- Conduct Cannon and Tele-hut Pre-starts.
- Complete defect reports.
- Take 5’s.
- Hazard ID.
- Daily operator handover.
Ideally, applicants will possess the following technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in operational/maintenance roles; or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in mining.
- Process plant exposure highly regarded.
- Experience working with High Pressure systems highly regarded.
- Cert III in Surface extraction is desirable.
- Front End Loader, Skid steer, Excavator Grader, and Telehandler certification.
- Working at heights certification.
- Knowledge of Mining Production and Mining based safety systems.
- Ground awareness training..
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use information and communication technology systems.
- A high level of flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to apply independent thinking and common sense in decision making.
- Current C Class Driver license.
