Gannon Lifestyle Communities have been developing retirement estates over the past 40 years as a family company in tune with what family's value.
Gannon’s develop and operate aged friendly communities providing homes and services to over 900 retirees in both South Australia and NSW. This includes communities located in Angle Vale, Tamworth, Griffith & Moonta Bay.
- The organisation is invested in the Health, Safety, and Quality of our people and our services and to build our capability we are seeking a passionate safety professional to join the team in this new role.
- Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the HSQ Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the HSQ systems within Gannon Lifestyle Communities and will ensure the effective operation and continual improvement of these systems across the organisation.
- You will actively engage and support the Executive, Management, and staff in fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and quality. This will be achieved by providing operational support for the HSQ function and responsibilities include:
- Overseeing policy development, implementation and compliance
- Taking the lead in the Food Safety and Quality programs in collaboration with the Estate Managers
- Implementing and supporting the introduction of a new safety management system
- Ensuring all audit program activities are managed
- Serve as a subject matter expert and support in safety including monitoring hazards, incident reporting and investigations
- Monitor and review legislative changes and provide guidance on changes and their implementation
- Plan, develop and facilitate training ensuring all staff are continually upskilled
- Chair and provide support at Estate safety committee meetings
- Return to Work coordination
To be the successful candidate you will have:
- HSQ Qualification (Minimum Cert IV)
- Experience in developing and implementing HSQ policies and procedures
- Experience conducting Safety and Quality Assurance audits
- Demonstrated experience in Return to Work Coordination experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of database management and Office suite
- Proven ability to work and thrive in a team environment
- Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
