The role
We seek a driven engineer to spearhead the development and oversight of our water and wastewater hydraulic models.
In the role of Hydraulics Engineer Modelling Lead, you will be instrumental in offering technical guidance and data to various stakeholders, including the Asset Planning team, Property Services, and Operations. Your duties will encompass the creation, improvement, and upkeep of hydraulic models, as well as overseeing augmentation strategies. You will lead efforts to bolster network resilience while complying with rigorous regulatory standards.
What you'll bring
- Practical experience in infrastructure management, particularly in water and sewerage hydraulic modelling.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
- A proven history of effective stakeholder interaction

- Knowledge of risk management practices.
- Insight into the challenges facing water and sewerage infrastructure
- At least five years' experience in the Water Industry or equivalent work experience in a technical field
- At least five years' experience of using water and sewerage hydraulic models, in particular Infoworks ICM and Infoworks WS Pro
- Experience of using GIS products.
- Experience in understanding and interpreting Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) Codes for Water and Sewerage reticulation, and Sewerage Pumping Stations, etc.
- Understand risk management processes.
- Understand the risks to water and sewerage infrastructure.
- The ability to work well, autonomously, and work well in a team environment.
- Extensive communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation.
- Ability to liaise with and gain cooperation from other employees,
ESSENTIAL & DESIRED FORMAL QUALIFICATION
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in engineering, eligible for Professional Engineers Registration, and a commitment to working towards achieving registration in the relevant discipline.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence.
