About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
Accountable for the provision, maintenance and support of DCS Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Active Directory (AD) systems and services to ensure that DCS ICT AD infrastructure reliably supports DCS business operations and service delivery. Work under broad parameters and undertake project activities, including the planning, design and implementation of project deliverables and identify risks and issues, ensuring solutions are compliant with DCS and SA Government policies and standards. Undertake IT administration across a variety of service segments and work closely with external service providers to support disparate platforms and technologies in a range of environments.
Significantly contribute to the secure operations of cloud and on-premises infrastructure services by administering servers, developing automation, orchestration, monitoring and managing authentication mechanisms to deliver overall effective enterprise solutions.
Special Conditions
Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
May be required to work out-of-hours or be on-call to ensure 24 hours a day, 7 days-a-week information systems remain operational and able to meet critical business deadlines.
Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
Requirements
Essental: N/A
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in an ICT related discipline. Specialised system administration certifications e.g., Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, HPE ASE
