The Manager, Electorate Services is accountable to the Director, Organisational Capability for managing a range of efficient and responsive support services to Members of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council, and their support staff, and managing the delivery of Ministerial Chauffeur services. Support services include those associated with electorate accommodation and all facets of human resources and work health and safety management, in accordance with Cabinet guidelines and government policies.
Job Summary:
- Providing professional leadership and direction to staff and encouraging a culture of service excellence and high performance.
- Ensuring that advice and services provided are consistent with Departmental delegations, policies, standards, procedures and service level agreements.
- Ensuring that efficient work practices, best practice and contemporary procedures are implemented and reviewed.
- Managing the Electorate Offices, and Support Services to Parliamentarians Budget.
- Processing requests for expenditure, taking into consideration competitive procurement practices, departmental policies and whole of Government contracts.
- Providing high level advice to the Treasurer and Under Treasurer, and participating in the enterprise bargaining negotiations for Assistants to Members of the South Australian Parliament.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, with proven ability to relate effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders and clients, negotiate successful outcomes in an innovative and resourceful manner, whilst maintaining a high standard of professional competence and an ethical approach.
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction, deal with competing demands, administer multiple projects and effectively manage the expectations and requirements of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Ability to apply appropriate discretion and maintain confidentiality and political sensitivity when representing the agency.
- Significant experience leading, motivating and influencing staff, using highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage conflict and constructively resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically to ensure solutions remain flexible to meet current and future organisational needs and make well informed, timely and significant decisions to achieve objectives.
MAS3 - $125, 970 per annum.
Special Conditions
- Some out-of-hours work may be required.
- The incumbent will be required to participate in the Departmental Performance Management Program.
- The incumbent may be required to be assigned to other positions at the same remuneration level across the department.
- Engagement in this role may be subject to a satisfactory Department for Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check. (Renewal is required every 3 years)
