About the opportunity:
Seeking an ICT Hardware / Asset Manager to join a federal government Department for a long-term contract.
This role involves overseeing the business processes as part of a broader team for acquisition, deployment, utilisation, and disposal of IT assets to support the department's financial requirements and operational objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Identity and facilitate the evaluation of IT assets and equipment for approval to use in the department’s ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals.
• Maintain and improve ICT Product Catalogue lifecycle processes.
• Having a deep technical understanding of IT assets and interoperability between devices.
• Build strong relationships with hardware vendors to track lifecycle dates and identify like for like replacement options.
• Implement strategies for the lifecycle management of IT assets, including tracking warranties, licenses, and maintenance contracts to ensure timely renewals and replacements.
• Establish mechanisms for tracking and monitoring the usage, location, and condition of IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT asset management, including potential security vulnerabilities, operational disruptions, and financial implications.
• Negotiate and optimise service delivery related to IT asset management.
• Prepare regular reports and analysis on IT asset inventory, utilisation, costs, and compliance for management review and decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated the following experience:
• Experience in IT Asset Management, and procurement.
• A knowledge and understanding of Whole of Australian Government vendors relating to the provision of ICT hardware.
• Certification in IT Asset Manager (e.g., ITIL). A minimum NV1 security clearance.
• Capacity to attend the Canberra office at least three days per week.
