The Digital Enabling Services Branch provides the Digital Services Division with program management and assurance, business engagement, human resource services, financial management and reporting, in-house commercial services and assistance in governance and strategic communication matters. The branch is also responsible for the Shared Services Centre which governs the provision of ICT services to participating entities.
Directors within the division operate with a significant degree of independence and work under the broad guidance of an Assistant Secretary to deliver quality outcomes. In performing a leadership role, Directors identify and drive innovation, manage and lead change and have an active role in contributing to and implementing the agency's strategic direction.

The Job
You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic advice to the division on procurement and contract management issues and policy.
- Overseeing the development and delivery of contracted goods and services and the management of large and complex ICT contracts.
- Managing relationships with key agency stakeholders, other agencies, vendors and service providers which may include undertaking complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Ensuring contract and procurement services are assessed and delivered in accordance with the intent of the contract, that risks are identified and performance is effectively managed.
- Leading, developing and maintaining strategies and plans to optimise and improve the delivery of procurement and contract management services through innovation, systems and technology.
- Overseeing, reviewing and advising on a range of written material including business cases, Cabinet submissions, Senate Estimate submissions, Ministerial and agency briefs and corporate documentation.
- Applying strong written communication skills to plan, prepare and develop documentation consistent with Commonwealth and agency writing and style guides.
- Leading a high performing and engaged team, managing business performance and resources, establishing priorities, monitoring attendance and wellbeing, and developing staff capabilities through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to enhance performance, engagement and retention.
Please note that this position may be filled on either an ongoing or non-ongoing basis. If an offer of non-ongoing employment is made, the successful applicant would be employed for an initial period of twelve months with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years in total.
