The Opportunity:

As the ICT Systems Architect, you will focus on successfully delivering the outcomes contracted for the JP500 project, for building the value of the KEY-team brand with the client and maximising the opportunities for business growth within the operating rules applicable to the MSP. You will closely coordinate and align with other EWIS-JA Projects, as well as the capability manager, to achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Development of ICT architecture documentation to support the data management system under Phase 2;
  • Provide technical knowledge to input into the review of the data management use case analysis, and identify possible implications to the project.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders (i.e. CIOG and DSSC) to deliver the final data management system.
  • Manage the development and implementation of ICT policies and procedures as they relate to the project.
  • The ability to liaise with multiple and diverse stakeholder entities including entities within Defence and national partners
  • Work collaboratively by building effective relationships with team members and actively participating in group activities.
  • Performing other reasonable duties as directed by the IWP Lead, Project Manager or Program Director;
  • Support the Commonwealth with their management of the delivery of the security certification and accreditation documentation for ICT systems;
  • Resolve issues by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefs and reports as directed including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration.
  • Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions. 

  • Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions. 

  • Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into engineering activities. 

  • Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • 8 years’ minimum experience in a similar role
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience
  • An understanding of Electronic Warfare
  • Defence experience (Uniformed, APS or Contractor)
  • AGSVA security clearance – NV 2 (minimum – with ability to obtain TSPV is required)

Location: RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA (on site 4 days a week dependent on network access and role requirements)
