The Critical Care Unit and Intensive Care Medical Registrars provide onsite medical care to patients in our Critical Care Unit (Coronary & Intensive Care), working alongside many supportive specialists & nurses. Postgraduate experience in anaesthetics/airway management and emergency response is essential for success in this role.
- You will contribute to all aspects of clinical care, under the medical specialists and the Director of Critical Care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessment on all admissions into the Critical Care Unit.
- Attend patient rounds.
- Perform necessary procedures as required, including PIVC, CVC, PICC and arterial cannulation. In addition, you will manage a mechanically ventilated patient; competent in intubation & airway management and assist with procedural sedation in the unit when required.
- This is a full-time roster position. You will work 12.5 hour shifts with 7 days on 7 days off alternate day and night roster periods.

As a dynamic regional hospital situated in Rural Queensland this is a private facility equipped with 120 beds, dedicated to acute care in surgical and medical services. Notably, their critical care unit has undergone expansion.
The Requirements
- A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Previous post-graduate acute/critical care experience (mandatory)
- Procedural skills including advanced life support (adult & paediatric), arterial line insertion, central line insertion (CVC & PICC).
- Medical knowledge of the pathophysiology & management of a wide variety of critical illnesses and conditions.
- Clinical knowledge of cardiac & acute coronary syndrome management
