Research & Development, capability and capacity building and marketing investments are made to improve the profitability, productivity, and global competitiveness of Australian horticultural industries. Investment decisions are prioritised by current needs in each horticulture industry in consultation with growers.
The Role
Within the Industry Insights team, there is now the requirement for an Impact Evaluation Manager.
Reporting to the Industry Insights Manager, the role is responsible for:
- Leading the impact assessment and evaluation of Research, Development, Extension and Marketing investments
- Managing data insights and information projects that support industry needs and decision making
- Communicating findings to amplify and extend industry insights
Collaborating across all business units you will consult, analyse metrics, and provide impacting reporting, thereby gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the research shapes outcomes benefitting Australia’s horticultural industries. This includes evaluating and managing various initiatives and projects (eg industry specific benchmarking) delivered by external service partners.
You will be engaging with and working closely with a range of high-level stakeholders across the horticultural industry and government.
The Person
To be successful in this influencing role you will have:
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation frameworks within RD&E programs, ideally in an agricultural industry
- Leadership and high level communication skills
- Experience in analysing research performance and reporting
- Tertiary qualifications in economics / commerce (Formal study in the field of evaluation will be highly regarded)

You may come from another RDC, the wider field of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI), or an agricultural industry impact reporting role.
