Sharp & Carter is delighted to support Brisbane 2032 to appoint their Impact and Legacy Team Member.About Brisbane 2032The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the “Games”) will be the largest event in South-East Queensland’s history, with the potential to deliver transformational change to our region. As the name suggests, the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (“Brisbane 2032”) is responsible for organising the Games. Some of Brisbane 2032’s operational responsibilities include: raising revenue through sponsorship, ticketing and the sale of Brisbane 2032 merchandise, sourcing the goods and services required to deliver the Games, managing the temporary overlay and operation of the venues and recruiting thousands of volunteers as well as many other elements that are essential in staging a world class global sporting event.With the countdown towards the Games firmly underway, you have the opportunity to be part of the foundational Brisbane 2032 team in supporting the delivery of this transformational once-in-a-lifetime event for all Queenslanders.About the PositionThe Impact and Legacy Team Member will report to the Head of Games Impact and Legacy and sit within the broader Sustainability, Impact and Legacy (SIL) team. Primary responsibilities will focus on development and administration of Games-related impact programs and internal human-rights policies with additional responsibilities across sustainability program support.This is an early career development role, with opportunities to grow as part of the team and overall life cycle of the Organising Committee through to 2032.Key responsibilities will include:
- Support the development and implementation of impact strategies and programs across the areas of Legacy, First Nations, Human Rights and Sustainability
- Support the SIL team with the organisation of meetings and workshops, including minutes, agenda papers and related support materials
- Support the planning, delivery and communication of key stakeholder meetings and workshops
- Work closely with the Brisbane 2032 Brand, Digital and Communications team to assist with development of Impact-related content for Brisbane 2032’s digital channels (website, email, social media)
- Write, edit, proofread and format internal and external copy
- Support the team’s administration of processes and policies, including finance
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as sport/business management, law or social science
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a relevant related area within government, management consulting, sport and/or not-for-profit sectors
- Knowledge of social inclusion, human rights and sustainability national and international legislation and best practices
- Experience in delivering social impact programs in sport and/or the broader community
- Understanding of how ‘for purpose’ programs can drive sustainable, commercial partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to understand and synthesise insights and analysis into written reports to ensure continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively in a small team environment, providing support for multiple projects and initiatives in parallel
- Excellent attention to detail, process driven with strong organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent writing skills

- Strong team player who is happy to work in what will initially be a small team
