Our Office 

Located in the vibrant NewQuay area of Docklands, our Melbourne office is equipped with end of trip facilities, automated coffee machines, views over Banksia Park and supportive colleagues - this is a work environment to be envied!

The Role

Here is a fantastic opportunity for you to work for the world leader in the shipping industry.

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time position of Import Client Services Officer within the Client Services Team in Melbourne.  

You will be reporting to the Client Services Manager who is highly experienced and supportive.  This manager has high expectations of the team and prepared to train and mentor the right candidate.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to embark on a new career in the shipping industry.

The primary task and responsibilities for this position: 

  • Liaising with overseas agents for changes or clarification of shipment details, payments, telex releases and identifying where manifest correctors may be required.
  • All vessels balanced and any issues resolved in line with company procedures.
  • Processing and release of electronic delivery orders (EDO) and invoices to clients
  • Maintain/update Client Services files and archiving on a regular basis – i.e. Letter of Authority
  • Issuing import documentation as required at the front counter 
  • Monitoring client credit limits their adherence to credit terms and assisting with recovery action
  • Collating bills of lading and import delivery charges
  • Maintaining client files and records
  • Completing all reports for import vessels prior to arrival

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the below skills:

  • Attention to detail 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Good team player
  • A desire to learn and be committed to the team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is essential (Outlook, Word, Excel)
