About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an exciting leadership opportunity for a motivated Test Lead within our IM&T Defence Delivery. This is a newly created role within BAE System's IM&T Defence Delivery organisation to lead testing capability across projects and make your mark.
We are flexible on location.
Reporting to the IM&T Program Manager – Defence Delivery, you will be responsible to formulate, define and implement Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Defence Delivery's testing framework, test tools, methodologies, test strategies and plan which leading ultimately to end to end test execution including defects and triage management.
More specifically, you will
- Be responsible to develop, implement and maintain program testing schedule and ensure all testing deliverables are produced and approved as required
- Implement and monitor all testing activities and provide regular status and coordinate to resolve issues found during testing
- Work closely with Project Managers, Delivery Leads and End Users to manage risk and issues and track all interdependencies for inclusion in critical planning relating to the solution testing
- Prepare, identify, evaluate, select, and manage a supplier to deliver testing management services to the program (where required)
- Establish close working relationship with relevant internal test management resources within the program and function teams to ensure that the delivery adheres to relevant internal guidelines
- Liaise with broad leadership team to roll out testing skillset within broader IM&T team including aligning to common testing strategies using templates and automated testing tools
About YOU
- Demonstrated relevant experience in software testing and quality assurance with previous experience of leading a team of technical experts in various forms of testing
- Extensive knowledge in managing functional and non-functional testing, administering test management tools in an SDLC and ITIL environment
- Strong technical documentation and interpretation skill with an experience and exposure in complex projects
- In depth knowledge of current IT testing industry trends, capabilities and strategies
- Critical thinker with strong analytical skills demonstrated through critical decision making and driving innovation for sustainable competitive advantage
