Job description

  • $90K-$110K + $25,000 allowance + super + annual bonus
  • Site based FIFO role from Townsville or salary sacrificed from other centres 
  • 8/6 Roster Thursday - Thursday

The Role

Reporting to the HSEC Manager this role will see you responsible for managing emergency preparedness for Phosphate Hill operations. 

You will deliver and personally contribute to:

  •  Provide advice to Phosphate Hill personnel on emergency management matters and training requirements.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of Crisis Management and Recovery preparedness plan and procedures 
  • Leading the response to emergencies on site
  • Training the Emergency Response team 
  • Drug and alcohol testing 

What you’ll bring 

Ideally you will have worked in a similar role before within a mining or chemical manufacturing environment. Other desirable skills and experience include:

  • You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
  • Certificate IV in Mine Rescue or equivalent
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets
  • Experience in firefighting and chemical spill response
  • Experienced with Working at Heights and Confined Space setups
  • Vertical rescue experience would be desirable

Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
