ABOUT THE ROLE

AFLNT hosts place-based AFL programs in Indigenous communities throughout the Northern Territory. Programs aim to engage all age groups and genders in consistent and structured AFL activities to support positive social outcomes.

To ensure AFLNT programs are of the highest standard and have the greatest impacts, all projects need to be sufficiently resourced, staffed and administered. AFLNT is seeking a highly organised and values driven individual in the role of Indigenous Programs Operations Coordinator - NT on a 2 year maximum-term contract, to provide project management and administration support and coordination for all Indigenous programs.

This support will focus on providing operational support to all projects including vehicle and housing, AFL gear and equipment, procurement, staff travel and collating program participation data outcomes and storytelling.

This role is offered on a two-year, maximum-term contract and is located in Darwin, NT.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and support housing outcomes for all community-based projects and leases.
  • Ensure all Indigenous programs are resourced with AFL gear and equipment.
  • Provide project resources to support staff based in remote and regional locations.
  • Support the acquisition and management of Motor Vehicle Fleet including all vehicle related matters.
  • Organise financial management of Indigenous programs including credit card acquittal.
  • Support staff to collate participation data outcomes from all Indigenous programs.
  • Centralise program outcomes aligned to project KPIs and storytelling.
  • Manage and organise travel bookings and flights throughout the Northern Territory.
  • Support with staff inductions, cultural awareness training and handovers.
  • Support with the delivery of AFLNT Indigenous programs throughout remote and regional communities.
  • Assist with all administrative tasks relating to remote programs.
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role and support and contribute to the success of the broader team.

OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER

Core Competencies:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal communities throughout the Northern territory.
  • Experience in project management or providing extensive administration support.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage wide variety of competing priorities across multiple locations and settings.
  • Outcomes focused approach and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.
