Position Overview: 

Join our dynamic team at the AWU NSW Branch as an Industrial Organiser working on an EQUAL TIME rotating roster focused on organising the Snowy 2.0 Construction Project. This is a Full-Time position with accommodation provided at Adaminaby while working on the Project.

Responsibilities: We are seeking an individual who can:

  • Recruit new members and provide ongoing support to existing AWU members.
  • Develop and implement organising plans.
  • Negotiate effectively with local managers to secure positive outcomes, including enterprise agreements for AWU members.
  • Conduct organising conversations to engage members, inspire action, and communicate union values.
  • Identify and nurture workplace delegates.
  • Assist members with grievances and inquiries.
  • Contribute to workplace campaigns.
  • Collaborate with WHS Delegates to uphold workplace safety standards.

Selection Criteria (Essential and Desirable): You should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience or a solid understanding of campaign management and member organisation in a Union or Not for Profit Sector.
  • Familiarity with WHS legislation and the Fair Work Act.
  • Willingness to embrace new approaches, generate innovative ideas, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and CRM Databases.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Compliance with the Federal Right of Entry Permit process, including a clean criminal record.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Position Details:
