Position Overview:
Join our dynamic team at the AWU NSW Branch as an Industrial Organiser working on an EQUAL TIME rotating roster focused on organising the Snowy 2.0 Construction Project. This is a Full-Time position with accommodation provided at Adaminaby while working on the Project.
Responsibilities: We are seeking an individual who can:
- Recruit new members and provide ongoing support to existing AWU members.
- Develop and implement organising plans.
- Negotiate effectively with local managers to secure positive outcomes, including enterprise agreements for AWU members.
- Conduct organising conversations to engage members, inspire action, and communicate union values.
- Identify and nurture workplace delegates.
- Assist members with grievances and inquiries.
- Contribute to workplace campaigns.
- Collaborate with WHS Delegates to uphold workplace safety standards.
Selection Criteria (Essential and Desirable): You should possess:
- Demonstrated experience or a solid understanding of campaign management and member organisation in a Union or Not for Profit Sector.
- Familiarity with WHS legislation and the Fair Work Act.
- Willingness to embrace new approaches, generate innovative ideas, and foster a positive team environment.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and CRM Databases.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to work autonomously.
- Compliance with the Federal Right of Entry Permit process, including a clean criminal record.
- Valid Driver’s License.
