QPTS has partnered with one of our clients, a renowned provider of innovative, customised products for the resources sector and a global leader in the wear solutions market. They are looking for an Workshop Industrial Painter/blaster to join their Mt Thorley Workshop.
This is a Temp - Perm placement. (3 months TEMP then PERM)
$48.95ph - 38hrs/week Plus OT
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Painter/Blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and blasting CAT Truck Bodies and Components to ensure they meet quality standards and client specifications. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in painting and blasting techniques, and a commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying appropriate primers.
- Operate blasting equipment to remove rust, scale, and contaminants from surfaces.
- Mix and apply paints, 2 Pac, coatings, and sealants according to specifications and quality standards.
- Use spray guns, brushes, or rollers to apply the paint evenly and achieve the desired finish.
- Perform quality inspections to identify and address any defects or imperfections.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow environmental regulations regarding the disposal of paints, solvents, and blasting materials.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and production output.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Industrial Painter/Blaster, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Proficiency in operating blasting equipment and applying various types of paints and coatings.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to painting, blasting, and hazardous materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Certification or training in painting and blasting techniques is a plus.
- Pre Employment Medical, and Drug and Alcohol Screening is a requirement
