Partnered with our host, Gordon Brothers Industries, we are looking for an Industrial Refrigeration Apprentice who would like to start their career in a thriving industry, while completing a UEE32220 Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Please note this role is working in Industrial Refrigeration and suits someone who is mechanically minded rather than electrical.
The position is full-time and based in Acacia Ridge.

The work is predominantly site work and will include the occasional night away to complete work that is not in Brisbane.
You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework and working all over the Brisbane region.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the technicians to service and maintain large industrial units
- Installing pipework
- Hanging evaporators
- Mounting units on site
- Learning to read plans and technical drawings
- Full-time 4-year contract including paid annual and personal leave
- Paid weekly
- Access to 1:1 mentoring
- Opportunity to access Govt subsidy payments of up to a total of $5000 for the first 2 years of your apprenticeship paid in 6 month instalments
You must have good mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, the ability and confidence to ask questions, a positive attitude, and a keen interest in mechanical workings.
If you are someone who likes to tinker with mechanical applications or work on your car, have some hand and power tool experience or maybe have completed a Certificate II in Engineering that would be looked upon favourably, as this role is very mechanically orientated.
In addition to these qualities, you will:
- Have a driver's licence, P Plate minimum
- Have a construction White Card (or be willing to get one)
- Be safety-minded
- Be well presented
- Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
- Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol, and Police Check
