About the Role
The Industrial Relations (IR) & Community Relations (CR) Officer - Kutubu oversees the implementation of community and Industrial Relations operations in Kutubu and SE Mananda areas, ensuring alignment with Santos goals.
Reporting to the CA Area Supervisor – Kutubu, this role involves coordinating Community Relations activities, resolving conflicts, and assuming Senior CA Officer responsibilities when needed.
The position demands proactive engagement with stakeholders to maintain operational continuity and foster positive relationships.
The role is based in Kutubu, Southern Highlands Province and on a rotational 28 days on 28 days off.
Key accountabilities include:
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance, Community Affairs Planning and Procedures Manual and Safety requirements.
- Ensure all operations are performed in accord with Community Affairs Planning and Procedures Manual & Safety Plan and Procedures.
- Promoting Incident Free Operations by way of adhering to the Ten Life Saving Rules.
- Promote company’s core leadership behaviours.
About You
Professional Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 or more years working in a similar role.
- Solid field working experience in PNG in the mining & petroleum & gas industries.
- Demonstrated capacity for community work in rural PNG.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word & Excel
Desired experience for this position includes:
- Work safely for long hours & cope with living in a remote location.
- Work in “back-to-back” situation.
- Willing to work in difficult isolated communities by conducting day or overnight village patrols.
- Work in all the Fasu, Foe, Moran Huli, SEM Huli & Onabasulu clans, Gulf and Western tribal groups.
- Medically fit & willing to use all modes of transport including helicopters.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree in Lands Studies, Community for Development/Public administration/Industrial Relations or equivalent from recognized institution.
- Current PNG driver’s license.
