The Contract Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the timely delivery Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Contracts. The objective of this position is to ensure TMR Contracts are delivered in a planned, and cost-effective way ensuring optimal profit margins are being made.
The achievement of these objectives will be measured through the efficient and economical utilisation of plant, labour and materials, with strong emphasis on compliance with Council’s Safety Management System.

Award: Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $94,996 - $100,134 per annum.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |- and maintenance programs related to TMR Contracts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management ability including works programming, contract management and budget development and administration.
- Understanding of civil construction and maintenance techniques including emerging practices and technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed reports on related operational matters.
- Sound financial literacy and business acumen across contracts, budgets, and projects.
- Ability to build strong cohesive teams through organisational skills and sound judgement in decision making including negotiation and problem solving.
- High level interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to work in a collaborative environment to create opportunities to develop solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and relevant computer applications applicable to projects.
- Relevant qualification in project management, contract management (or similar), or be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
- General Safety Induction Certificate (Construction Industry) “Blue/White Card”.
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision, or the ability to obtain.
- Possession and maintenance of a Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver Licence.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/POSITION ENVIRONMENT
- This position is primarily an indoor role and requires sufficient physical ability to work in a shared office setting, which involves prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and operating a computer and telephone.
- This position is required to carry out light to moderate manual handling, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, lifting and carrying.
- This position requires the incumbent to undertake periodic field visits.
- Undergo mandatory immunisation against Tetanus or provide medical documentary evidence of suitable immunisation.
- This position may be required travel.
- This position will require the ability to participate in an on-call roster.
