About the role
The Information and Governance Officer reports to the Manager Governance and Integrity and plays an integral part in the development and implementation of a continuous improvement strategy that builds TAFE Gippsland’s information and records management capability and compliance. You are a key and active member of the TAFE Gippsland Governance and Integrity Team and will be adaptable in providing essential customer focused service and support to business areas across TAFE Gippsland in governance, risk management, and delivery of information to TAFE Gippsland staff and other stakeholders.
Utilising your information and recordsmanagement knowledge, you will deliverpolicies and procedures that support efficient and effective information and records management that meet legislative and best practice requirements that result in information being valued, reliable and readily accessible whilst ensuring that TAFE Gippsland adheres to statutory requirements regarding record keeping and information management.
You will improveand maintain a functional Records Management System which will effectively serve all areas of TAFE Gippsland’s operations. You will respond to the day to day needs and contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the Governance and Integrity Unit, including the provision of a high standardof customer service to the organisation. This role also performs the Freedom of Information Officer responsibilities.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Records Management or equivalent
- 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Competence in using MS Office Suite
Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
- Current Driver’s Licence (travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
- A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
A six-month probationary period applies to this position.
