About the role
Ipswich City Council is on an exciting journey to uplift Information Management maturity across the organisation. This position will play a pivotal role to lead and shape the implementation of several key initiatives to increase council's compliance with legislation and enhance information practices across council.
As Information Management Project Officer you will be part of the Information Management Team and support in ensuring best practice and compliance with relevant legislation in relation to Information Management.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Support the delivery of a customer focussed Information Management service offering industry best practice advice and support to the organisation, through the implementation and promotion of strategies, policies, procedures relating to the design of Council’s information structures and taxonomies, including monitoring modern, innovative, and better practice Information Management functions.
- Assist in the delivery of the Information Management Uplift program, including participating in working groups, liaising with stakeholders, and preparing reports
- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Council’s Information Management practices, including policies and procedures, corporate training and communications campaigns within the agreed project scope, budget, and timeframes.
- Provide high-level advice, recommendations, and reports, for the consideration of the Executive Management Team and Council, regarding the organisation’s Information Management culture, capabilities, and practices, identify issues/risks and appropriate mitigations, and opportunities for improvement
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. information/records management, data governance) and/or substantial experience
- A focus on setting high standards for quality and quantity while achieving project goals
- Excellent communication skills to liaise and communication with a broad range of people
- A high level of organisational skills to prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and within a team

This is a permanent, full time position, Level 5 with a salary commencing at $93,169 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
