Information Security Analyst
The Information Security Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding our organisation’s sensitive information. With a sound understanding of Information Security principles, practices, and frameworks, this role ensures that risks are mitigated, controls are implemented, and policies are adhered to across our technology landscape. Your proactive approach will be essential in maintaining awareness of emerging threats and driving continuous improvement in our security practices.
The Information Security Analyst will operate within a cross-functional team that covers a broad range of Information Security disciplines. Initial focus in the role and key responsibilities will include cyber awareness and broader Information Security report generation, whilst being empowered to learn and perform tasks across the disciplines.
What will your key responsibilities include?
- Cyber Awareness: Assist to foster a culture of security consciousness to protect Customers and NGM Group (including the development and delivery of cyber security awareness materials and programs), as well as oversee Information Security advice.
- Report Generation: Produce periodic and ad-hoc Information Security reports to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and insights.
- Engagement: Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicating security concepts and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Initiative Delivery: Contribute to the implementation of strategic and operational Information Security initiatives within the organisation.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and act on opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness in Information Security processes.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay abreast of current Information Security threats and challenges, providing input on appropriate responses and countermeasures.
- Compliance Requirements: Maintain awareness of external regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence within the organisation.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments for emerging technologies and major changes, recommending appropriate controls and assisting with treatment plans.
- Framework Management: Facilitate the development, implementation, and improvement of the NGM Group Information Security Management Framework.
What are we looking for?
- Diploma or higher education qualification in a relevant field such as IT, Information Security, computer science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Information Security governance or equivalent industry experience.
- Sound knowledge of Information Security management tools, practices, and concepts.
- Experience in developing and delivering training for cyber awareness and the production of Information Security reporting.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and risk assessment methodologies.
- A positive attitude, open mind, highly analytical and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Sound communications skills across a variety of audiences.
- Excellent problem solving & analytical abilities.
- Experience with conducting audits, compliance monitoring and testing considered favourably.
