Join our Cyber Security team as a Security Analyst, a key role in our Information & Cyber Security team-a committed, diverse group, operating as part of our Product and Technology group, focused utilising cutting-edge tools to secure our data, systems, and suppliers and protect the ABC from cyber threats.
We are looking for an aspiring blue teamer seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to progress their security career. This role will actively contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of controls and processes to ensure the secure delivery of our services including broadcasting Radio, Television and Online.
As a Security Analyst you'll actively participate in:
- The investigation and triaging of cybersecurity incidents using available monitoring and tooling services.
- Responding to cyber security incidents, working with the business to contain and undertake remediation activities and accurately document incident.
- Contributing to the effective management and operation security tooling and controls such as SIEM, Firewalls, IPS, EDR, and Email content filtering.
- Identify gaps in existing security monitoring and propose ways to reduce security incidents, improve operational efficiency of the team through automation initiatives.
- Apply cyber security and privacy principles in reviewing security solutions and providing advice on how changes in conditions, operations, or the environment will impact services.
- Stay up to date with current and emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities in the cyber landscape, as well as the latest security trends and industry best practice.
- Participate in team on-call rotation as required.
You'll have relevant qualifications, skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience in a Security Operations Centre or a comparable environment. Your background will play a crucial role in enhancing our cybersecurity capabilities and ensuring the resilience of our systems.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- 2+ years' experience in security focused role (e.g. SOC Analyst, Security Analyst, Cybersecurity Specialist etc). Relevant industry certifications such as CISM, BTL1, ECIH, GCIH, CySA+ are highly regarded.
- Experience in security monitoring and operational incident response within on-premises and cloud-based services (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS).
- Demonstrated experience in SIEM and SOAR platforms such as Splunk.
- Experience with security technologies such as endpoint detection and response, network firewalling, active directory, email filtering and protection solutions.
- Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and common technology concepts, such as Firewalling, DNS, proxies, VPN, encryption, scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to think outside-the-box while being detail-oriented.
- Awareness of industry standard security frameworks including those produced by ASD, NIST and MITRE) and a commitment to maintaining awareness of industry news on vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
- Understanding or experience in broadcasting or online & digital industry is highly regarded.
