About the role
The Infrastructure Consultant provides IT infrastructure solutions for our clients. The Infrastructure Consultant will participate in the build, implementation and ongoing support across the technology stacks of our clients.
The Infrastructure Consultant is responsible for:
- Project Design and Implementation; ensure quality design and delivery of projects from end to end
- Lead and guide the rectification of production issues. Liaise with vendors to ensure issues are resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Implement changes into production systems using established change management practices
- Performing activities including but not limited to:
- Regular patching and upgrades
- Capacity management reporting
- Establish and monitor environment health checks
- Respond to and action client tickets
- Stakeholder management
- Collaboration with other portfolios
- Participate in a 24x7 rotating on call roster as required
- Work in project teams to establish infrastructure and server environments to support new applications and system roll outs
Education and Experience
- Tertiary Qualifications (completed or completing) in Information Technology, Business, Science, Engineering or Economics coupled with relevant professional qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in engineering and supporting medium to large IT infrastructure environments end to end
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication skills to be able to converse with both end-users and internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with hypervisors including VMWare & Nutanix
- Network Infrastructure including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Network Protocols (BGP, HSRP, VRRP). Palo Alto and Cisco experience preferred.
- Microsoft Technologies including Active Directory, SCCM & SQL
- Experience with high availability systems including SQL Always On, Windows Failover Clustering, F5 load balancing or other loadbalancing technologies
- Citrix & VMWare Virtual Desktop technologies
- Hardware such as physical servers, SANs and datacentres
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
- Exposure to telephony
- Exposure to Linux
- Automation and scripting (terraform, ansible, powershell)
- Understanding of devops and devops related practices (agile, git code management)
- Strong Technical Documentation Skills
- Experience in financial industry preferred
- Experience with web hosting and maintaining web based platforms
- Sound ability to present to stakeholders and communicate complex issues
- Strong IT Security Technology and Policy understanding
