As we expand into being an innovative multi-modal organisation with a focus on incorporating experts within the rail industry. NTRO is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a background in delivering projects focusing on Below Rail infrastructure.

Working in a small and dedicated team, you will be involved in all stages of project lifecycle from identification through to delivery and completion. This is a full-time role within our Asset Performance team and can be based in any of the NTRO national offices. 

Main duties of the role

  • This role focuses on Below Rail infrastructure where design, construction, implementation and maintenance are the key deliverables
  • You will be responsible for effective tendering and management of projects within the rail asset management sector as per identified scope of projects
  • Work with our multi-disciplinary teams and provide technical advice during the development, planning and delivery phases of rail projects
  • Work with a range of clients from track owners to operators ensuring safe and efficient asset management of rail networks
  • Strong working knowledge of regulated transport environments coupled with an understanding of associated legislation and standards
  • Ability to articulate a proposition, prepare briefs and examine a scope of work document in a timely manner
  • A key focus will be liaising with external stakeholders - you will be able to listen, accurately interpret their requirements and respond to clients in a timely manner
 About you
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or postgraduate in Asset Management or related areas
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in Below Rail infrastructure including track and below ground works
  • Strong understanding of rail systems, track construction, track maintenance and asset management projects
  • Strong program/ project management skills including time management
  • Have a sound reputation within the rail industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and makes meaningful contributions to a diverse national team environment
  • Must hold a valid Australian drivers license
