Infrastructure Engineer (Tooling)

This role involves overseeing monitoring, automation, performance management, and other critical toolsets essential for the efficient operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and enhance IT infrastructure toolsets: Take ownership of various tools used for monitoring, automation, and performance management within our IT environment.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements to optimize tool performance and functionality.
• Lead the adoption of industry best practices in automation throughout the IT Infrastructure, leveraging toolsets to automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Assume ownership of the necessary products and tools.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert, offering guidance, assistance, and training as necessary.
• Take proactive steps to engage stakeholders, comprehensively understanding their requirements, addressing concerns, and delivering effective solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Proficient in Infrastructure technologies, with a comprehensive understanding of enterprise toolsets utilized for monitoring, automation, and operations.
• Ability to develop and deploy automation solutions and practices effectively.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, etc.
• Skilled in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
• 5-7+ years of experience in Infrastructure engineering.
• 3-5+ years of experience in managing enterprise Infrastructure toolsets.
• VMWare concepts and Technologies – highly desirable.
• Desirable experience with Azure Cloud Operations – highly desirable.
• A track record in managing various monitoring solutions like Logic Monitor, Splunk, SolarWinds, etc.
• Experience in managing diverse automation frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, etc.
• Expertise in configuring, customizing, and administering Infrastructure toolsets.
• Capable of analysing complex technical issues and proposing viable solutions.
