Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team as an Infusion Nurse and deliver exceptional, compassionate care to patients needing infusion treatments. This role demands a commitment to providing the highest quality of care, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to travel to various locations within Brisbane to administer treatments. This role may be more suitable for someone living within the metro south region as this is the area we are servicing. Hours will be variable according to how many infusions are required and pay is per infusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct infusion treatments for patients as scheduled, typically on a weekly basis, for example, every Monday.
- Administer infusible medications like ferritin and zoledronic acid infusions following prescribed orders and protocols.
- Evaluate patients' health status, closely monitoring for adverse reactions or complications during and after the infusion process.
- Instruct patients and their caregivers on injectable treatments, highlighting potential side effects and proper care post-treatment.
- Ensure patient records are meticulously maintained, recording all infusions, patient evaluations, and pertinent observations.
- Uphold strict infection control and safety measures to ensure a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Provide reliable, punctual injectable services across various locations, managing personal travel arrangements and expenses, including transportation and parking.
- Engage in continuous professional development to remain abreast of the latest in injectable treatment practices and innovations.
- Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere for patients, their families, and staff in aged care homes.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, organizational policies, and maintain current personal indemnity insurance coverage.
- Maintain open lines of communication with management, reporting any issues, incidents, or suggestions for improvement promptly.
- Assist in various capacities as needed to facilitate the effective delivery of injectable treatments to patients in aged care settings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience and skill in administering infusions such as ferratin and zoledronic acid.
- A strong commitment to patient care, demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
- Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel to patient locations.
- Current knowledge of best practices in infusion treatments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Adherence to all health and safety guidelines and regulations.
- Current personal indemnity insurance.
