About the role

Based in Whyalla and reporting to the Superintendent Health, Hygiene & Safety, this role is responsible for effectively implementing and maintaining the Injury Management and Return to work program for work and non-work-related injuries and illness.
This role will ensure injured/ill workers are identified, supported, and managed to achieve the safest and most effective pathway for Return to Work pre-injury duties.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs with key stakeholders and recommend rehabilitation program corrective action(s) where needed
  • Establish strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support high visibility, early intervention and regular review
  • Led the Injury Management and Return to work practices and ensure compliance with all associated requirements
  • Provide Injury Management advice, coaching, and mentoring to management on Workcover and Return to Work programs
  • Ensure Injury Management, wellbeing and Return to Work of workers is carried out to provide optimal worker outcomes
  • Provide advice and assistance to injured/ill workers in relation to benefits and entitlements
  • Participate in regular claim review meetings
  • Coordinate and conduct rehabilitation meetings
About your experience

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation to positively influence outcomes. With demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of South Australian Workers Compensation and Injury Management legislation, you will be able to Work independently, be proactive, problem solve, and meet relevant organisational goals and targets.

Most important to this appointment is your ability to adapt to an ever changing environment, coupled with your high level administrative background and strong communication skills.

You also have:

  • Return to Work Coordinator certification training (RTWSA), ideally
  • Demonstrated experience in Injury Management and Workcover claims management
  • High level of IT literacy including Windows, claims management software, and online meeting forums
  • Ideally you will have working knowledge of a self-insured claims management environment and of extended wage support/income
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence with the desire to build relationships and ability to manage conflict
