Access theSome of your responsibilities will include:
- Offer technical expertise and guidance for construction and maintenance contracts to ensure effective project outcomes.
- Evaluate contractors' program of works, work plans, quality, safety, and environmental measures, identifying deficiencies and conducting audits, including traffic guidance schemes.
- Perform surveillance and audits of contractor works and quality records, ensuring compliance with specified requirements and contractual conditions, including specialized inspections on TMR and Developer works within the State Road Corridor.
- Maintain comprehensive records, including diaries, test results, and photos, suitable for legal presentation, while providing regular performance updates to the Contract Administrator.
- Monitor external contractors for Workplace Health and Safety compliance, contribute to project management phases, and liaise with various stakeholders regarding transport infrastructure operations and issues.
- A current Class ‘C' Drivers License.
- Certificate III Civil Construction (or equivalent).
- Participation in the Roadworks Inspector Career Development Program (RICDP) is mandatory for new appointees.
- Applies mature communication skills to deal with a range of stakeholders on a variety of aspects of operations, delivery and maintenance of transport infrastructure.
- Applies civil construction expertise to all phases of project management from inception to completion.
- Critically analyses available information to gain insight and make insightful decisions.
- Evaluates possible solutions and takes appropriate steps to mitigate risks.
- Apply knowledge of road and bridge construction and maintenance practices and principles relevant to transport infrastructure projects.
- Have a detailed knowledge of our network and its risk profiles relating to flooding, vegetation management, structures maintenance, batter slopes, noise barriers and pavement conditions.
- Undertake disruptive event management operational role in responding to network emergencies, urgent work, critical incidents, and natural disasters.
