About the role:
Are you passionate about music and skilled in brass instruments? Do you have a desire to share your knowledge and inspire the next generation of musicians? If so, we want you to join our team as a Brass Instrument Teacher!
Position: Brass Instrument Teacher
Location: Glasshouse Christian College, Beerwah
Hours: Casual position; however, you must be available to teach Wednesday 8.50-10.50 am
Responsibilities:
The Instrumental Music Tutor provides individual and group based instrumental lessons to students along with leading or assisting with the leading of a College band, ensemble, choir or vocal group. Specifically the IMT is responsible for;
- Provide high-quality brass instrument instruction to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop personalised lesson plans tailored to each student's goals, abilities, and learning styles.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to musical growth and development.
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, auditions, and competitions as needed.
- Collaborate with other music teachers and staff to promote a cohesive and enriching musical education program.
- Stay updated on current trends, methodologies, and repertoire in brass instrument instruction.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Ability to teach a variety of ages (Primary and Secondary). Experience in preparing students for exams would be advantageous.
- Previous teaching experience preferred. Willingness to mentor and guide students through their musical journey.
- Hold a current, valid Blue Card as required under the Working with Children.
- Proficiency in playing brass instruments such as trumpet and trombone. Knowledge of French horn and tuba is also desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Proven ability to work as a constructive member of a team with a professional, courteous manner
- Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a lifelong love of music in students.
- Maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position.
