The Hunter Region Working Women’s Group (HRWWG) has been providing services to women and their families since 1974. Our group governs the Hunter Women’s’ Centre and the Hunter Early Childhood Centre and are driven by strong values of care, compassion and inclusiveness.

As a not-for-profit organisation we continue to grow and re-invent ourselves, striving to provide the best quality counselling, education, social support and childcare to women and families experiencing disadvantage. With this vison to continually enrich and grow, we are currently seeking to employ a motivated and passionate person to join our Hunter Women’s Centre Team to assist with the Intake and Caseworker role.

About the Role

This role's purpose is to provide family violence risk assessment, safety planning, information and access to referral pathways for women and their families.

To improve the health and wellbeing of women who are experiencing difficulties and at risk of depression and anxiety due to relationship issues, domestic and family violence, childhood trauma and social and financial disadvantage.

Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based and client-centred model of care, the Intake and Casework Manager will facilitate the inclusion of women in their health and well-being and inform, support and advocate for marginalised and disadvantaged women.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for the position you must be able to address the essential criteria below;

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, welfare, community services or equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Demonstrated experience/ability to undertake Intake and casework
  • Knowledge and experience in data management including processing, storing, organising and maintaining data base and preparing statistical reports.
  • Demonstrated community development experience, liaison, and networking with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
  • Current Driver’s License and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Desirable CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of Women’s Health issues
  • Best Practice software and Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the Women’s Health sector for the area which you are applying.
  • Previous triage or intake experience
