Al Siraat College is a Foundation to Year 12 Islamic school located in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne (Epping). Having made a significant impact since its foundation year in 2009 within the broader community, the College continues to expand apace with strong enrolment growth at all levels. Our aim is to use learning as the pathway to develop students of refined character.
We're seeking a dedicated Integration Aide to join our Learning Enrichment Team. This position will commence Term 2, 2024. This position works across Primary/Secondary school.
About the role
As an Integration Aide, you'll play a pivotal role in providing support to students, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Integration Aides must be passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. They work under the guidance of classroom teachers to facilitate the inclusion and participation of these students in all aspects of school life. They must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and practical experience to effectively support students and contribute to an inclusive school environment.
Key Skills Required
The ideal applicant will be required to have the following:
- Ability to work as a cooperative member of a collaborative team
- Excellent written, organisational and communication skills
- Positive attitude and rapport with young learners, parents and colleagues
- Capacity to work independently and proactively when required
- Ability to support teachers in the delivery and implementation of Individual Learning Plans
- Ability to work with small groups and offer individual support to enable the student to develop specific skills as necessary
- Capacity to make appropriate judgments to ensure student safety and welfare
- Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and patience in supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Adherence to school, classroom and student confidentiality requirements;
- ICT competencies conducive to supporting the use of class and school technologies
- Ability to maintain detailed records and complete required documentation
- Actively participate in activities, assisting, intervening and encouraging students where required.
