If you are passionate about intelligence analysis and want to make a real difference to Australia's national security and criminal environment, we want to hear from you.

AFP Intelligence Operations is one of many functions supporting the broad remit of the AFP. It is integral to AFP criminal investigations; in Australia and abroad. Intelligence Officers work within intelligence teams in close partnership with investigators to achieve tangible outcomes against Australian and international criminal threats.

We are seeking individuals who are self-directed and have the flexibility and resilience to thrive in a dynamic and at times high tempo working environment. Intelligence Officers will work in a team, using critical thinking and analytical ability to mitigate threats. Intelligence Officers will contribute to AFP investigators by working with others to provide a consolidated picture of transnational serious organised crime and national security threats, identifying priorities, and informing decision making.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

* This role attracts a composite allowance in recognition of expanded working hours, normal patterns of attendance and shift patterns (such as afternoon shifts, weekends and Designated Public Holidays) that are required under the Operations working pattern. In accordance with the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020, an employee who is required to work in accordance with the Operations working pattern will receive a Core Composite of 22% in addition to their Base Salary which will count as salary for superannuation. The Commissioner has the authority to remove a composite from a role.
