About the Opportunity
Consumer & Business Services (CBS) is looking for an experienced and organised professional for its Casino andGambling Intelligence and Scheduling Officer role.
This is a newly created role where you can make your mark through sourcing, analysing and disseminating intelligence products relevant to the Casino and Gambling-related regulatory functions of CBS. Through collating internal data and conducting research, you will inform the strategic and operational focus of both proactive compliance activities and education and communication projects in the Casino and Gambling landscape.
The role will also support the development and maintenance of the schedule of proactive and reactive inspections and operations undertaken by the Casino and Gambling team inspectors and providing a high level of administrative support to the team.
We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Well-developed research and analytical skills and the ability to forecast trends and issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Highly developed electronic database management skills
  • Well-developed written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, accurate assessments and reports.
  • Experience applying sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytical processes to prepare effective summaries, tables and/or reports.
  • Well-developed oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex or technical information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience in the application of risk management strategies as they apply to an intelligence environment.
  • Experience providing a high level of administrative support under general direction and in an accurate and timely way.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment or in scheduling the allocation of resources in a strategic and data driven way would be looked upon favorably.
About the Business
The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Employing around 1500 staff, AGD promotes justice by protecting people’s rights, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system.
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. The Compliance & Enforcement Branch is responsible for conducting operational regulatory activities in relation to legislation administered by CBS.
The Casino andGambling Intelligence and Scheduling Officer operates within a complex, politically sensitive and changing environment and is required to exercise a reasonable level of judgement and decision making under limited direction.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Eligible to be appointed and exercise the powers and functions of an Authorised Officer or Inspector under relevant legislation.
