About the role
A unique opportunity exists for an advanced practice ICU nurse to further their professional portfolio within NSQHS Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration Standard, within Eastern Health as a member of the Maroondah Hospital ICU Liaison Nurse team.
As an ICLN you will exemplify Eastern Health values. You will support the management of patients being transferred from ICU to the wards aiming to minimise relocation stress for patients and their relatives and act as a resource for ward staff involved in the management of patients with complex care needs. You will attend medical emergency code calls; receive direct requests for assessment assistance for patients whose clinical condition may be ‘at risk’ or have signs of approaching MET call criteria.
The successful candidate/s will have demonstrated capacity as a clinical expert, continuing to be available to roster 0.2 EFT clinical shifts within the ICU. Rostered ICLN shifts include morning and afternoon shifts x 365 days per annum and you may also act as an ICU ACCESS nurse to enable timely admission into an available ICU bed and provide direct clinical allocated care.

The ICLN reports to the ICU Nurse Unit Manager.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Post Graduate qualifications in Critical / Intensive Care
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience working within diverse teams
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A clinical expert with strong commitment to highest quality care
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
