Whilst working in a regional council may not have been the first thought, there are advantages to working in a diverse council experiencing significant change and growth within their community which will make this role an attractive career defining role for one ambitious planner.
Although they may bear the label of a "Shire," their council is anything but small in ambition or impact. Situated just an hour away from Melbourne, their picturesque town is experiencing remarkable growth, driven by a passionate community keenly involved in local developments.
As the coordinator for Statutory Planning, you'll lead a team of four dedicated professionals, shaping the landscape of the community. Your core responsibilities would involve staff management, providing advice and troubleshooting applications, briefing councillors and reading Statutory Planning reports for assessment.
Whilst this is a 4-month commitment it may be extended beyond its initial contract length to continue providing leadership to the planning team.
Council understand the importance of work-life balance and are offering a hybrid working arrangement that can be tailored to meet your individual needs.
