Job DescriptionThe
Data Platform Specialization Lead is a multi-faceted role responsible for defining the
Data Platform go to market strategy aligned with the Data and AI practice strategy and overall NCS go to market strategy. The role is responsible for defining to service catalogue definition within the
Data Platform area and track capability metrics against performance targets nationally. Also, to establish
Data Platform standards, guidelines, and best practices for the data and AI practice. TThe
Data Platform Specialisation Lead role is responsible for developing and maintaining various
Data Platform frameworks in conjunction with counterparts in other regions to facilitate reusability and expedite value delivery. To ensure consistent application of
Data Platform approaches to deliver high-quality client outcomes and solutions.The role is responsible for leading the
Data Platform team providing strategies for capability uplift that are aligned to market opportunities, provide service delivery oversight and guidance. The
Data Platform Specialisation Lead will significantly contribute to recruitment, development, and engagement of the members of the
Data Platform team. Ensuring people understand their role and contribution to a high performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities:Subject Matter Expertise
- Proven experience in modern cloud Data Platform architecture, design, and implementation.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
- Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Certifications in relevant cloud platforms and data technologies are a plus.
- Consulting experience or exposure to a client-service environment is advantageous
Capability Leadership
- Define Data Platform go to market strategy aligned with the Data and AI practice strategy and overall NCS go to market strategy
- Define to service catalogue definition within the Data Platform area
- Track capability metrics against performance targets nationally
- Establish Data Platform standards, guidelines, and best practices for the data and AI practice.
- Develop and maintain various Data Platform Frameworks in conjunction with counterparts in other regions to facilitate reusability and expedite value delivery.
- Ensure consistent application of Data Platform approaches to deliver high-quality client outcomes and solutions.
- Collaborate with capability leads to drive quality and efficiency across the organisation
- Drive relationships with tool vendors and partners in their nationally
- Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity
- Collaborate with resource management to maximise billability and team utilisation
Consulting and Client Engagement
- Partner with clients as a trusted advisor on technical solutioning and implementation nationally
- Work with clients to address key problems, pain points and create a future resilient business though capability uplift and knowledge sharing activities
- Participate in client engagements, tender specifications, bid reviews, solutioning and technical reviews.
- Solicit customer feedback to continuously enhance customer outcomes and satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data-driven deliverables.
Thought Leadership
- Create and participate in, technical advisory boards or other relevant professional associations nationally.
- Deliver technical webinars to large audiences.
- Moderate technology forums and panel discussions.
- Creating thought leadership content across key areas of expertise
- Maintain your own professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
Commercial and Business Development
- Build and maintain relationships with clients nationally
- Drive business development and pre-sales activities providing input to tender responses and bids, including RFP’s, RFI’s along with marketing/thought leadership activities.
- Drive growth through partner opportunities nationally and for the greater good of the Data and AI team.
- Participate in marketing and business development initiatives through participating in our thought leadership program, including running regular events, being a keynote speaker, presenting case studies, creating webinars, blogs and other relevant collateral
- Create and support sales enablement collateral and activities to promote the capability to a national audience.
Culture & People Leadership
- Create and maintain a high-performing team and culture through talent development, knowledge sharing, recruitment and coaching of consultants in aligned to the Data and AI practice strategy
- Participate in NCS culture building initiatives, including developing initiatives to grow our culture and engagement
- Develop and build capability in Data Platforms within NCS team members aligned to market demands and build a talent succession pipeline nationally.
Qualifications- Proven experience leading initiatives in Data Platform consulting or professional services environment
- Experience leading projects in large multi-vendor environments
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
- Solid sales and commercial acumen
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership Skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, problem-solve, and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills using tact and sensitivity.
