The Head of Data Management & Controls will report into the Country Data Officer for Australia. The role will primarily protect our data through robust policies for Data Management and enhanced governance. It works across all Business/Functions to ensure adherence to local Data Management requirements and alignment to the Group Data Strategy.It will also take ownership and oversight of the Data Management Framework and adherence to CPG 235. It will support the market in the adherence and compliance to Data Privacy (DPRIV) controls and Information Lifecycle Management (DSTO). In addition, it will own the risk management oversight and oversight of related audit, regulatory and compliance activities.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring data is managed and governed in line in adherence to Group Data Policy and local regulatory requirements (APRA/ASIC/ACCC) covering Data Management/Privacy and Information Lifecycle Management
Ensuring full and transparent oversight of all data initiatives at a country, regional and global level
Implement sustainable operating models for data oversight, regulatory engagements and continuous monitoring
Proactively identify and implement improvement opportunities in the application of the framework to work alongside other governance frameworks such as Information Security, BCBS and Project Magnus (Regulatory Reporting)
Work with stakeholders including regulatory compliance, second line risk stewards, first line risk owners and provide the subject matter expertise to facilitate a cohesive, collaborative and effective oversight of Data
Ensure good practices in the management of frameworks and templates. Ensure these are fitting for business needs and comply with prevailing regulations. Continuously look for opportunities to enhance user journeys
Identify both actual and potential thematic issues and risks and determine the most appropriate path to address and manage in conjunction with key stakeholders
Manage Stakeholder engagement and expectations by supporting demand into the Global DAO utilities and driving transparency of backlogs and prioritisation
Manage and monitor the Data Quality process, remediation, issues and reporting
Requirements
Requirements:
Track-record of developing and implementing Data Management frameworks.
Extensive experience of leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver exceptional customer service and value.
Proven ability to deliver change globally across matrix-based organizations
Thought-leader in Data Management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skill.
Experience in delivering in a highly regulated environment.
Experience in Data Management (specifically CPG 235) is highly desirable
Information Lifecycle Management or privacy preferable
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
