Our client is one of the fastest growing accounting firms in WA, established over 7 years ago by three passionate and energetic accounting professionals, it has grown to 30 staff and four Directors. They now service over 500 clients and provide services ranging from business restructuring, financial modelling and business advisory to tax, compliance, and superannuation planning services. Their offices are located in the heart of stunning West Perth, with a short stroll to Kings Park and some great cafés and restaurants close by and they will soon be moving into brand new, bright, spacious and modern offices around the corner. The team in West Perth are friendly, fun and supportive and their staff turnover is low, with several members of staff being there since the beginning. THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Intermediate Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Preparation and lodgement of income tax returns and fringe benefit tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Preparation and lodgement of instalment activity statements and business activity statements individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Preparation of special purpose financial statements for companies, trusts and partnerships
- Liaison with clients as directed by the manager
- Assist in the preparation of engagement letters and fee estimates
- Attendance to ad hoc bookkeeping services for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
- The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
- To be CPA or CA qualified or working towards
- To have 2-5 years’ experience in a public practice
- To demonstrated experience in a professional finance or commercial organisation with proven technical accounting skills and an in-depth understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles and processes
- To have good knowledge of Australian tax law
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills, attention to detail, and sound business acumen
- To be highly customer-focused skills, with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- To be able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- To work collaboratively with other team members as required
- A generous remuneration package of $65k - $90k + super (depending on experience)
