Intermediate Accountant

Our client is a local Newcastle-based firm who prides themselves in providing accounting services to small to medium-sized businesses by focusing on the entire business to automate, streamline and improve client systems, processes, and profits.  
They are looking for an Intermediate Accountant with a passion to provide clients with meaningful number insights to help them grow their business to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.
 
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Intermediate Accountant you will be responsible for providing support to the Senior Accountants in preparing compliance and management accounting work while building skills to work directly with clients.
The key responsibilities of this position includes:

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies
• Preparing IAS, BAS, FBT, End of Year Workpapers and Tax Returns.
• Maintaining clients' asset register, adjusting journals and reconciliations.
• Assisting senior accountants to provide clients with proactive, timely and accurate services.
• Work across and develop relationships with a portfolio of clients.

 
ABOUT YOU

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public practice
• Completing or finishing Accounting Degree.
• Experience in Xero preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise work
