Intermediate Tax Accountant
An established boutique accounting firm with Business Services, Business Advisory, Tax and SMSF compliance clients currently has an opening and is seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Tax Accountant.
What’s involved:
- Preparation and review accounts, tax returns, BAS and FBT returns for all types of entities
- Assisting with providing tax, accounting and structural advice
- Assisting with budgeting and reporting
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and external third parties
- Assisting on ad-hoc projects including tax advisory/planning
- Preparing accounts and work for self managed super funds
Your Background
To secure this role you will ideally have:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in an Australian accounting practice with exposure to trusts, companies, superannuation funds and partnership structures, and generally, all types of SME structures.
- Experience in Australian taxation and business services
- Commenced or completed CA or CPA program with full support offered towards these studies if not completed
- Strong software and excel skills, exposure and hands on experience with MYOBAE, XPM and BGL software preferred but not essential
- A proactive & positive attitude
- The ability to multi-task and work in a small office environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail is a must
Qualifications and experience:
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Hold a degree Commerce/Economics or Business with an Accounting major with an Australian university.
- Have 3-5 years or more experience in a Public Accounting firm in Australia
- Had exposure in tax, compliance work and BAS preparation, financial statements preparation.
In addition you will have:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- High attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- A desire to learn in a challenging, informal yet very professional environment
