As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the team with various tax-related tasks. This position offers an opportunity to further develop your skills in tax preparation, and compliance. Your role is critical in ensuring our clients' tax obligations are met accurately and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tax Preparation:
- Preparation of financial statements, BAS, individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Gather necessary financial information from clients to ensure accurate reporting.
Client Support:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide tax-related assistance.
- Explain tax strategies and implications clearly and understandably.
- Assist in tax planning strategies to minimise tax liabilities.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure that tax returns are filed accurately and on time.
- Assist in resolving tax notices or issues from tax authorities.
- Monitor filing deadlines and extensions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience
- Knowledge of tax software and tools (e.g., XERO)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of current taxation legislation and accounting standards.
