Founded in 1999 by Dr Steven Enticott and supported by 3 partners and a team of 14 professional staff, CIA Tax is a vibrant and busy accountancy practice located in the bayside suburb of Bentleigh (approximately 25 minutes from Melbourne).
CIA Tax is a full-service practice providing high quality accounting, taxation and business services to our long-standing clients, specialising in small to medium businesses, investments, and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).
The firm has experienced steady growth over 25 years with minimal staff turnover.
Due to the exponential growth of the firm, we are seeking experienced tax accountants to join our growing team.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join CIA Tax.
The Role / Duties
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with 4 experienced partners with over 20 years of accounting experience.
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
- Prepare and/or review financial statements, tax returns, ad-hoc financial reports as well as budgeting and forecasting for individual, corporates, partnerships, trusts and SMSFs;
- Preparation of BAS and quarterly reports;
- Research and preparation of business and tax advice on transactions, investments and other business activities;
- Liaise directly with ATO and clients; and
- Conduct tax planning and research to identify tax-efficient strategies to clients.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience within a public practice accounting firm;
- Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA/IPA or equivalent certification is preferred, or candidates who are currently completing CPA/IPA certification will be considered;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and accounting software systems such as Handisoft, BGL, Xero and Quickbooks is preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients;
- High attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work well within a team environment; and
- Desire to continuously learn and develop.
