The Director of this fantastic south-side boutique firm has come from an incredibly strong background, having been a partner at a mid-tier firm for 20 years! His enthusiasm for training the next generation of accountants encouraged him to begin his own boutique practice 6 years ago. They are now looking to bring on an Intermediate Accountant to support their team and help grow their business, while enjoying a prioritising work-life balance.
Not only will you be working a reasonable amount of hours each week, but this boutique firm also offers a high degree of flexibility in how and when you work. This is an incredibly rare opportunity for anyone with family commitments who does not want to be working 50 - 70 hours a week. This business has a strong client base which will give you variety across different types of businesses and industries. Although this role is predominantly tax-focused, there is also an opportunity to develop your skills in SMSF.
About the Position:
Your responsibilities as an Intermediate Accountant will include:
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for all entities up to 5 million dollars turnover
- BAS, Prepare Financial Statements
- Preparation of clear and concise work papers
- Help identify accounting issues
- Apply complex tax compliance procedures
- Assist with tax planning for clients
- Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
- Full understanding of PAWG, Payroll tax, Income tax, Company tax, Super, GST, Div7a and capital gain for compliance and lodgement purposes
- CA/CPA qualified or studying towards
- Professional written & verbal communication
- Minimum of 2 years company/trust tax returns experience
- Permanent residency or citizenship
- Xero and MYOB experience is a must!
- SMSF experience is highly regarded but not mandatory
