About the roleThe Internal Audit Manager is an integral part of the Governance and Assurance team at selectability. Reporting to the General Manager, Governance & Assurance, the Internal Audit Manager will lead and direct the Internal Audit function, providing independent and objective assurance and advice.
Main duties:
- In collaboration with the GM, Governance and Assurance, develop and mature the Internal Audit planning methodology, including articulation of the Internal Audit strategy, and development of the annual Internal Audit plan.
- Coordinate and deliver programs to deliver against the annual Internal Audit plan, including planning and conducting Internal Audits in accordance with the Internal Audit manual and International Professional Practices Framework and International Standards for the Practice of Internal Auditing
- Development and maintenance of the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and appraising the adequacy of corrective actions
- Provide independent and expert advice to senior management regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of controls to improvement, risk management and accountability
- Maintain Internal Audit Charter, manual, policies and procedures
- Report risk information to senior leadership and Board of Directors, and Board Committees.
To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree/post graduate qualifications in Law, Commerce, Business preferred.
- Certified Internal Auditor certification highly desirable, or willingness to continue professional development toward obtaining.
- Demonstrated (minimum 3 years) experience in an Internal Audit role
- Sound knowledge of International Professional Practices Framework and Internal Standards for the Practice of Internal Auditing.
- Strong and collaborative communicator with demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes diplomatically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability and experience in furnishing high quality Internal Audit reports.
- Critical thinking, professional skepticism, and strong problem solving and risk management skills.
- Data analytics and data analysis competencies
- most importantly… a positive attitude
You will also need:
- a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
- a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- a current yellow card exemption or an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate (visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au to access this free module). at completion of the course, you will be provided with a certificate of completion which you can forward to **@selectability.com.au
This is a full time role based in Townsville.
