The Role
The Internal Auditor supports the delivery of the Department’s Internal Audit program, including undertaking internal audits as directed and supervised by the Manager Audit and Risk, and maintaining internal audit records, working papers and reports and the audit recommendations register. This involves the collection, analysis, interpretation and documentation of data and information to support internal audit outcomes. This position also provides secretariat support to the Department’s Audit and Risk Committee, including collating meeting papers and recording meeting minutes, and assists with maintaining Internal Audit policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have completed a university degree within accounting or finance (or similar), have attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills and a sound understanding of the internal audit function.
Highly desirable attributes include problem solving and analytical skills and planning and organisational skills.
The primary objective of the internal audit function is completion of the Department’s internal audit program. Therefore, this position will be fully supported by both a Manager and Senior Internal Auditor. On the job training will be provided for specific tasks such as process mapping, completion of audit sampling, and preparation of papers for Audit and Risk Committee meetings.
