Internal Auditor

On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Energy / Oil & Gas industry, Brunel is presently recruiting an Internal Auditor for a 12 month contract.  You will be part of the Internal Audit JSOX Team, reporting to the Audit Manager located at the Company’s Corporate Perth CBD office. 

You will be responsible for: 

• Ensuring audit activities are conducted in accordance with relevant professional standards
• Assisting in the preparation of a risk based strategic audit plan which is approved by Audit Committee
• Driving the audit process from; leading planning, stakeholder Kick-Off & Status Update meetings, drafting and finalisation of reporting and final presentations
• Consult closely with the Risk Team in understanding operational risk and compliance risks and incorporating them in annual audit planning
• Assist in the preparation of periodic reporting to the relevant management and Audit Committee
• Conduct follows ups on audit findings and escalate overdue high findings

• Undergraduate degree – Accounting accompanied with a CPA/CA or CIA membership
• Knowledge of International Auditing Standards
• Previous experience working in internal auditing
• Relevant Oil & Gas industry experience is preferable
• Credentials and experience in assessing key business processes and technology
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and proficiency in the use of data analysist techniques
• Proven skills in managing multiple assignments
• Demonstrate you have led successful teams and International / Remote audit assignments
• Organisational skills - can work alone to deliver outcomes in a complex environment
• Excellent report writing and communication skills allowing the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
