Our Business
City Administration and Governance protect, enable and promote the integrity and reputation of Brisbane City Council. As part of City Administration and Governance, City Communication branch leads, develops, implements, provides advice and evaluates all external communication for the whole of Council.
Our Branch
The City Communication branch at Brisbane City Council is at the forefront of creating innovative and industry leading communication campaigns promoting a broad range of Council programs and activities to Brisbane residents.
The Role
We are seeking an agile, innovative and customer focused TEAM LEADER experienced in marketing and communication to lead a team of marketing and communication specialists. As the Client Services Team Leader you will work in collaboration with our multi-discipline branch to develop communication strategies that will reinforce Council’s corporate brand strategy, and will ensure all strategies developed demonstrate efficiencies, value for money, and a strong digital marketing approach.
You will be accountable for the development, implementation and evaluation of marketing and communication strategies, campaigns and initiatives, and the ongoing marketing, communication and account management needs of program areas within Council.
Your exceptional leadership skills will be pivotal in fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging both individual and team growth. You’ll have strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to adapt to change while keeping a customer first mentality. You will have a high degree of integrity and commitment to Brisbane and our residents.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- demonstrated proficiency in leading and motivating a team effectively, in accordance with the Council’s Leadership Blueprint principles while promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- experience managing marketing and communication strategies for complex campaigns, ensuring deadlines are met, process governance and corporate priorities are achieved
- strong project management and workflow management skills
- a proactive and highly professional attitude with the ability to manage positive working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders
- ability to manage cross-branch projects, including the allocation of resources by working with Team Leaders, senior leadership and branch members
- communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to problem solve
- enhancing operational efficiencies and championing marketing and communication best practice and industry trends
- relevant industry experience in Marketing and Communication or related fields (highly desirable).
