United steel is part of a multinational steel and building materials business. With more than 60 manufacturing and distribution sites in the Australia/New Zealand region. G.A.M. Steel, Calibre Steel, United Steel, Coil Steels and Steel Plus in New Zealand between them are a market leader in the distribution of hot rolled structural, merchant bar, pipe and tube steel products, sheet and coil and plate steel that help to deliver some of Australia’s largest projects.
The Group's Melbourne G.A.M. Steel business is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in our newly constructed, state of the art distribution facility in Altona North. This is a great opportunity for you to use your customer service and selling skills to clearly communicate with our external customers, the external sales team and the internal team alike.
What you will do
You will be working closely with a dynamic and collaborative team who are focused on delivering excellent customer service and meeting tight deadlines.
Experience in the Australian Steel Industry is preferred but not essential. On the job product and system (Pronto) training will be provided.
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience with:
- Delighting people with customer service
- Data Entry in a fast-paced environment
- Pronto operating system (not a pre-requisite)
- Microsoft Office programs
To be successful in this role you are likely to possess:
- Strong customer service skills
- Attention to detail and data entry experience
- A high degree of energy, self-motivation and desire to be rewarded with your hard efforts
- A stable track record of employment and desire to move into a long-term career role
